A Message From The Heart On Self-Love

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we are inundated with media sending messages of love, asking us what we’re doing for the love of our life, and promoting special deals for all things “love” related. You know what I’m talking about—the cheesy commercials, the teddy bears and boxes of chocolate on every isle of the store, the cruise promotions with people in love lying on a beach with a glass of wine under the rays of the sun feeding each other strawberries…you get the idea.

Love is a beautiful thing, no doubt. I’m a hopeless romantic myself, but this got me thinking. We’ve spent so many years of our lives getting an education, yet nobody has taught us how to love ourselves and why it’s so important. I’ve experienced the lack of self-love firsthand, and see it every day in the lives of my clients too. As females, we are wired to be the “nurturers” and so may of us bend over backwards loving and doing for everyone else but ourselves, to the point where we can become depleted and emotionally drained.

“Love yourself”…we hear these words, but what do they truly mean? To me, loving yourself means being honest with the core of your soul, listening to your inner truths and being guided by them. To embrace all that you are and radiating the glow in your soul.

Standing in your truth no matter what and being good to yourself-being honest, true, raw, and real.

Feeling what you feel, without the fear of shame or judgement. Living in alignment with your truth.

Knowing that you were divinely created on purpose for a purpose, and realizing your potential is endless.

To love yourself is embracing all that you are, and living your light unapologetically, passionately, and with intention. Knowing your worth, and not settling for less.

Realizing that self-love is not selfish, but instead, the greatest act of kindness you will ever exhibit; because when we are truly at home in our own soul is when we come alive, and that’s when we’re able to love others so fearlessly that we not only change our own world, but theirs too.

It’s when we inspire because we are inspired. It’s when we give selflessly and joyfully, because our own cup is overflowing. It’s when we become all that we were created for…. and that’s why loving yourself is so important.

Wherever you are today, I encourage you to do at least one act of self-love. Be kind to yourself for you are beautifully radiant and are here for a glorious purpose. Embrace your soul glow.
