5 Steps To Become More Present Today

The gift of being present unwraps so much juicy delight!

Earlier this year, I took an intentional amount of time off of social media to be fully present to my everyday reality and be all there for the beauty that’s blossoming all around—and it was nothing short of amazing.

If you’re anything like I used to be, you may be so dedicated to your next goal, that you’re not actually enjoying the journey along the way.

The list of to-dos, commitments, and pressure you put on yourself may feel overwhelming at times.

Here’s what I know for sure, when you allow yourself to just “be” in the moment, you skyrocket your ability to receive the very things that are aligned with your greater good.

Some beauty that occurred over my break from social media and honoring my energy and the call of my spirit to understand presence in a new way are things like:

  • Buying a home and moving

  • Expanding a few of my businesses

  • Adding more absolute rockstars to the team

  • Joining forces with incredible leaders to create resources to help businesses pivot in the time of Covid

  • Serving my clients in deeper capacities than ever

And so much more!

But , I remember a time when being present to the moment felt nearly impossible.

So below, I’m sharing with you what truly works!

5 STEPS TO BECOMING MORE PRESENT, TODAY:

  1. Breathe. Seriously, stop what you’re doing right now and take 5 deep breaths in and out. You’d be surprised how much underlying stress causes you to go long periods of time without breathing. Go send oxygen to the brain so you can focus better :)

  2. Incorporate a creative outlet into your daily routine, this can be anything that takes you out of your head and gets you back into your heart and body. This may look like dancing, painting, photography, creative writing, etc..you get the point.

  3. Movement: move the energy through the body by changing your state. Whether this is just walking through your home, doing an invigorating workout, stretching, intentional energy work, etc. This will help regulate your emotional state, igniting more awareness and presence to what really matters.

  4. Do a H.O.T. inventory: Do an Honest, Open, Transparent inventory of what’s going on in your life and anything you need to release or shift in order to create the space to be more present and enjoy the journey.

  5. Take action and do the things your soul invited you to do above in step 4. Success loves speed, and intentional success requires presence ;)

I invite you to try out these 5 steps to becoming more present—start today!
